Abilene High Rolls to First District Win of Season

By: Eric Boynton
Updated: September 15, 2012
The Abilene Eagles cruised to a first win in district play on Friday night in Amarillo.

The Eagles were able to score on their first two possessions of the night. Capped off by a short pass by Evin Abbe to Keevan Lucas, and then the  speedster did the rest. That touchdown gave the Eagles a quick 14-0 lead.

Then the Eagles defense stepped to the play by picking off a deep pass by Amarillo Tascosa quarter back Peyton Brooks. That pick by Conlan Aquirre put the offense back on the field.

Once they were back in the redzone, Marcell Porter cashed in on a touchdown run to help give the Eagles a 35-0 lead at the intermission.

Abilene High would never look back from that point, and go on to win 49-7 in Amarillo.
