HSU sophomores gathered Thursday to dip their hands in a mysterious purple concoction and fish out Hardin-Simmons memorabilia.
Students were excited to take part in the event, saying that it is a coming of age for second year Cowboys.

"I saw the kids last year doing it and I was like 'Oh! I get to do that next year,'" remebers Sophomore, Austin Hennesay, "and I was pretty excited. So, when I heard about it I was running from class to get here."
The students were given key chains that have a Hardin-Simmons ring on the end to remind them to work hard and one day graduate and get a real alumni ring.
