Monday afternoon at about 2:05, Officers Michael McAuliffe and Duff Phipps responded to a robbery call at a business in the 1600 block of Hwy 351. APD Dispatch had been advised by a loss prevention employee that a female, around age 20, had allegedly stolen merchandise from the store and had fled the store after kicking the calling party. The calling party also stated that the female suspect had hit another loss prevention employee in the head. Employees with the store maintained surveillance of the suspect as she fled across a field. An Abilene Christian University Police Officer also assisted on the call. This officer located and detained the suspect in the field. The preliminary investigation revealed that the female suspect had physically assaulted two store employees during their attempt to detain her for shoplifting. Merchandise, including a purse, valued at approximately $162 was recovered. The female suspect was arrested for felony robbery.

Monday night at about 9:55, Officer Brandon Scott contacted a motorist in the 5400 block of Steffens Street during a traffic stop. Officer Scott contacted a male driver who identified himself verbally. A records check revealed that the name and date of birth given by the driver was not in any database. Further investigation revealed that the driver had lied about his identity. Another records check with the driver's true identifiers confirmed that the driver had two outstanding arrest warrants. One of the warrants was on a probation violation on a felony charge. The other was a municipal warrant. The driver was arrested for his warrants and for misdemeanor failure to identify.

Monday night at about 11:50 pm, Officer Cody Brown contacted a motorist in the 3500 block of West Lake Road for a traffic violation. A male passenger was identified during the traffic stop. A records check revealed that the male subject had an outstanding felony warrant for fraudulent possession of a controlled substance and a municipal warrant. The male subject was arrested on the two warrants.
