Abilene will hold its first Cut Off For Cancer event this weekend in hopes to raise support for cancer patients.

Patricia Smith, hairstylist and designer of PM Styles partnered with the American Cancer Society to host the event at Nelda's Styling Center, a salon at the River Oaks Village. Cut Off For Cancer invites people to get their haircuts and/or donate their locks of hair to help anyone with different types of cancer. Several local stylists are teaming up to provide their time to cut hairs for donations.

Visitors are more than welcome to provide $25 per haircut for donation.

"It's just a way to give back to our local people and the American Cancer Society," says Patricia Smith.

I really enjoyed being on the KTAB 4U today to help promote the Cut off for Cancer. However, please note that Nelda's Styling Center is NOT hosting this event, it is just the location. This event is being hosted by Patricia Smith (PM Styles) partnered with the American Cancer Society
