40 Days for Life protesters finally see a reward from their dedication and perseverance.

"Y'all did it, and He did it," says Paula Matchen.

Twelve years ago Planned Parenthood of West Texas settled on North 10th Street in Abilene.

"This evil, evil, place called planned parenthood that was built on lies, based on lies and based on death," says Jim Sulliman.

Three people took notice and decided to take a stand against the entity's mission.

Sulliman continues, "So many times we knelt and we prayed and we continued to persevere. Despite the fact that it was so unlikely that a small group of people were going to be able to do something to put an end to such a powerful organization."

Sulliman, one of the leaders of 40 days for life became very emotional as he reminisced on all of the days he and his protesters stood for what they believed in.

"You can't tell me the life that's inside of me is not a life," says Esmeralda De La Cruz.

As an expecting mother herself, De La Cruz   says she could not fathom the idea of killing an innocent child and is glad the choice of doing so is no more.

She says, "A lot of the people that come here don't really know what they're getting in to. A lot of them are forced into it and a lot of them aren't encouraged to chose life. So it does mean a lot."

Now years after these three took their first stand against Planned Parenthood of West Texas, they release balloons in celebration of it's closing

An end to abortion in Abilene, but only the beginning of their work in Christ.
