(WNYT) Hudson and Pearl were being normally rambunctious puppies at New York's Mohawk Hudson Humane Society Monday.

But it was no ordinary day.

Hudson was getting a new paw, and even his doctor is a little nervous.

"The challenge is fitting this prosthetic in front of all you people hoping he likes it and doesn't chew it off initially," said Dr. Tom Bowersox, an Amsterdam veterinarian.

Hudson is one the three puppies found on railroad tracks in Albany back in September.

Investigators said someone cut off Hudson's back paw and may have driven nails through the paws of two other dogs. One of the puppies died.

Pearl is missing two toes.

Police are still searching for who is behind it.
