David said, Coach Warren, your guys got another win. You are still perfect on the year. I am guessing that feels pretty good. Tell me about being alive right now, and the fact that you guys are 12-0."
Coach Warren said, It feels great, both aspects. We are still standing in the playoffs, so we are playing well right now and rolling into the 3rd round. We are looking forward to a big match up out there on Saturday."
David said, The offense just really took off on Saturday against Arlington Lamar. It didn't seem like it could be stopped and the offensive line seemed like one of the big reasons for that."
Coach Warren said, "Oh, no doubt especially in the the second half. Our offensive line kids took it over. We kept handing the ball to Marcel, and he kept pounding it. That was the difference in the ball game in the 4th quarter."
David said, "Tell me about the way Marcel is playing, too. That fact he was able to take advantage of those holes. Offensive linemen give other running backs holes and it doesn't end up in 242 yards. He had something to do with that."
Coach Warren said, "Well, no doubt. He was making people miss. Marcel's a great back. He's moved up to the 3rd all-time leading rusher, very quietly, in school history. That says something because we've had some great backs here. For anybody in the playoffs to rush for 250, it's a big night for them. We are proud of his effort."
David said, "Now Midway's next. Talk about those guys. Most of the folks around here have never seen them play."
Coach Warren said, "They are very good. They are 2-time state finalists in 4A. They have moved up to 5A, and they haven't missed a beat. They are 12-0. They rushed for 400 yards last Saturday against Colleyville Heritage. They are a really well coached football team. When you get to the 3rd round that's just how it is. Everybody is good. Everybody has a good scheme. They are well coached. They've got good players. It'll be a great match up. We are looking forward to the challenge."
The Eagles take on Midway at 2 on Saturday in Justin. Both teams enter the game with 12-0 records.
