Brownwood Rezoning

Rezoning has already begun to occur, and the possibility of creating more jobs and industrial products in Brownwood is exciting some locals.
"I think the more businesses we have the better it is for our town, definitely better for our people," says local Gail O'Grady.
But not all people feel that way. One woman firmly stood against it, feeling it was too close to her doorstep.
Another isn't quite sure...
"I moved out here to get away from the city and all the businesses," explains Billie Gill. "I guess when they start building up, it'll take some getting used to. "
Although this massive piece of land is currently considered commercial, it's surrounded by industrial factories. 3m is just up the road and Kohler is literally in it's back yard.
"I suppose I'll learn to live with it, not really happy about it but it's alright," says Gill.
The actual industrial presence may be a problem to some but no one can argue with the jobs it will bring to the community.
"There's so many people out of work these days and homeless and their families are struggling to even eat and keep a roof over their head," says O'Grady.
In the end, that's the bottom line: people.
"Anything to help the working class people, I think is wonderful," says O'Grady.
This is only the beginning but perhaps this land can now be seen a field of dreams- if they build it, the jobs will come.
