Auto shops across the Key City are seeing an increase in customers with battery problems.
The batteries most at risk are those that have been weakened due to old age and lack of proper care.
However, there are some steps you can take to prevent a dead car battery as you are leaving for work in the morning.
"Bad batteries come from bad starting systems, or bad starters," says Daniel Longoria of Abilene Automotive, "so if you can have your vehicle inspected, that will prolong the life of your battery. "
A replacement battery could cost you anywhere from $100 and up.
