They will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday for closing arguments.

Original Story: Victim's Girlfriend Reveals New Motive in Murder Trial

The murder trial for an Abilene man continued Wednesday morning with revealing testimony from the victim's girlfriend.

Danny Calamaco is charged with murder in the 2010 shooting death of Steve McCain near Ambler and Bridge in north Abilene.

In court Wednesday, it was revealed the murder was allegedly over drug money owed by McCain to Calamaco, not a tattoo gun as Calamaco previously said during a jailhouse interview.

According to the testimony, Calamaco apparently sent threatening text messages to McCain on the day of the shooting and when McCain went over to pay off the $10 debt, there was an argument that ended with him being shot twice.

McCain was later found dead with $10 in his hand.
