Update: Assault Suspect Chased Away by Woman's Significant Other

Update

Police are still searching for the suspect of an assault that happened earlier Tuesday morning at a home on South 11, however, they have released a few more details on the assault.

The woman who was the victim of the assault was apparently saved by her common-law spouse who had been in another room of the house, entered the room where the assault was happening and chased the suspect away.

A report for felony Burglary of a Habitation (with Intent to commit an assault was taken by police.

Police are searching for a suspect in an assault that happened only a little after 9:30 a.m.

The suspect entered a home on South 11 Street through the front door of the home which was open.

A woman inside the home was assaulted by the suspect upon entrance.

Following the assault, the suspect fled the home in a blue Blazer which, according to police, is missing the front passenger seat.

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries from the assault.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20s.
