Update: Man Recovering after Brutal Home Invasion

A north Abilene man who was robbed by four or five men who rushed into his home Tuesday morning is still in the hospital.

The man said he heard a knock on the door of his home in north Abilene at about 3:30 a.m. and, when he opened the door, several men rushed in wearing masks and armed with guns and knives.

The police report says they tried to tie him up, but he was able to get away and go to a neighbor's house to call for help.

A friend of the man who was robbed told us he is still in the hospital from injuries during the robbery.

A north side Abilene man is reporting that he was robbed at gun point in his own home early Tuesday morning.

A 40-year-old male says there was a knock on his door at 3:30 Tuesday morning on the 1100 block of Kirkwood.

When he went to the door, four to five males wearing masks and armed with guns and knives rushed in and tried to tie him up.

The home owner was able to get away and the robbers then left.

The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries and blood can be seen on the window and door of the home.

We did try and contact the victim, but he was not home.
