The Abilene Christian High School Panthers start the postseason on Tuesday night at home.

Head coach Michael Bacon's team is the defending Class 2A TAPPS state champion.

The Panthers are 24-2 this year and ranked 3rd in the state by TABC and #1 in TAPPS Class 2A.

They are ready to start working on another state championship.

"We haven't shyed away from the fact that we're defending state champs, and the road goes thru us. We want to send that message. We've also talked to our kids that we're going to get everyone's best shot. We have all season. We've been ranked number one all year except for  two weeks in 2A. That's somethign we've talked about and that's something our kids seem to have understood so far. Except for one game, we didn't have a close game in district. So, we've handled that pretty well," said head coach Michael Bacon.

The Panthers start the playoffs at home Tuesday night. They take on Decatur Canterbury at 6:30 at Panther Gym.

Comments

I believe their record is 24-3. Stamford beat them last week.
