Brownwood is getting ready to host the Women's American Southwest Conference tournament for the 3rd time in 10 years.

The Howard Payne Lady Jackets earned the right to host the tournament by winning the West Division this year.

Howard Payne is the odds on favorite to come away from the weekend with the ASC title, and they have the advantage of being at home.

Head coach Josh Prock said, "Other teams that have to travel, some travel from long distances to get all the way down here. To be able to sleep in your own bed, to be around your family members here, our fans here, especially with us have some of the best fans in the country (is an advantage). These girls have earned it."

Senae Dillard added, "Everybody that made the tournament, they are really good teams. We are not expecting anything easy.  We know everybody is going to come in here playing their best. Everybody wants to win, so we are ready for everybody."

The Lady Jackets close the 1st night of the tournament tomorrow night at the Brownwood Coliseum against East Texas Baptist. That game starts at 7:30.
