McMurry University to Offer Art and Theatre Summer Camps

McMurry University's Art Department will offer Summer Art Intensives for all ages beginning in June. Registration and more information on any of the classes may be obtained by calling Melanie Long at  chrome://skype_ff_extension/skin/numbers_button_skype_logo.png325.793.4888 .

Studio Art Camps - June 24-28, 2013

Elementary Studio Art Camp completed Grades K - 5, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and computer graphics. $150/week includes $25 for materials. Taught by McMurry Art Faculty and Professional Artists, and aided by McMurry Students. 

Art Exhibit on Friday, June 28, 6-7pm.

Middle School and High School Studio Art Camp completed Grades 6-12, choose areas of focus - ceramics, photography, computer graphics, drawing and/or painting. $150/week includes $25 for materials. Taught by McMurry Art Faculty and Professional Artists, and aided by McMurry Students.

Combat Theatre Camps - June 24-28, 2013

Middle School and High School Theatre Campers 9:30am -12:30pm completed Grades 6-12th - learn stage combat, stage make-up, improvisational acting and stage design.  $135/week includes $10 for materials. Taught by McMurry Theatre Faculty, Theatre Professionals, and aided by McMurry Students. 

Showcase on Friday June 28, 6-7pm.

Adult Ceramics Camp  July 9 - August 8, 2013.

Adult Ceramics Camp for ages 16 - adult, will meet 6:30- 9:30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, starting July 9, 2013 - August 8, 2013.  Campers will be learning the skills of wheel throwing, centering, and more.  The class will be taught by Z Miles Mayfield, a McMurry alumni and third year graduate student in ceramics at UT Tyler.   Cost is $390 which includes $90 for materials.

Adult Photo Camp July 8 - August 8, 2013.

Adult Photo Camp will meet 9 am to 1 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays July 8 - August 9, 2013. Will be exploring digital photography and printing; students must have a digital camera. The instructor is Jennifer Nichols, photographer and McMurry Gallery Director. Tuition is $390 which includes $90 for printing.

Kids Ceramics Camp August 6 - 16, 2013

Kids Ceramics Camp - Ages 10 -16, meets August 6 - 16, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from 1 to 5 pm. Students will learn problem solving skills with this introduction to ceramics "summer fun class." We will explore functional and sculptural projects. This course is taught by Z Miles Mayfield, a McMurry alumni and third year graduate student in ceramics at UT Tyler. Tuition is $210 which includes $40 for materials.
