Abilene police are looking for clues in a smash and grab burglary at a north Abilene department store.

Several officers rushed to the Bealls department store about 4 o'clock when a burglary alarm went off early this morning.

Someone smashed a front plate glass window to get in.

There was evidence that the burglar gathered up some jewelery and ran from the store.

Patrol officers searched the area and then went back to document the case.

Workers this morning boarded up the store and began cleaning the debris.
