National Passport Day

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: March 9, 2013
For many people, visiting a post office during their regular business hours, is nearly impossible during a busy work day.

That's why the post office was open for National Passport Day on Saturday, inviting the public to renew or receive new passports.

Normally an appointment is required to get a passport, but Saturday operated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The event happens twice a year in an effort to keep all Americans up-to-date on their traveling documents.
