It's week one of the regular season for the Abilene Bombers, and their first step for success to work on the little things from last week's exhibition game.

"The biggest thing is execution. With only having a week before that exhibition game against San Angelo we had a lot of guys working through initially bringing in 35. So, guys had limited reps. Once we cut it down to the 25 we played with our timing was off here and there. So, just cleaning up the little things. You know the discipline stuff, penalties, lack of discipline on defense," said head coach Joe Brannen.

"The penalties, the personal fouls, that kills drives for us. Basically we're a fast paced high tempo type of offense, and we want to score points as quickly as we can," said Willie Bradley.

"For our first drive for our defense I felt we let them just march right down the field. because of stupid stuff that we did. They didn't have to earn anything. So, limiting that will help a lot. The nice this is that we have that out of our way. The first game jitters are gone," said Brannen.

"In a game that really didn't matter, and you still get a win is good. Laredo this will be their first real action coming in [Saturday] night. Hopefully we can us a little bit of that edge to propel ourselves."

The Bombers start a four game home stretch at the Taylor County Expo Center on Saturday night at 7 p.m. against the Laredo Rattlesnakes.
