Brownwood would strike first with two runs in the first three innings. Then pitcher Seth Owen would strike out three batters in the bottom of the third to preserve the Lion lead at 2-0.
Then in the bottom of the fourth the Mustangs would get on the board. First with runners on the corners, Kaleb Hoover would lay down a bunt to advance the runners. It would stay fair, and Hoover would leg out the hit, and load the bases.
A short time later, Shawn Campbell would lay down a bunt for a suicide squeeze, and it would get past the Brownwood third baseman.
That would be the first of four runs for the Mustangs in the fourth inning. That would prove to the difference in a 5-3 victory for Sweetwater.
