The Bobcats were hot out of the gates at Blackburn field. An errant throw after a Mickey Scott bunt allowed one Bobcat to cross the plate. That was just part of a four run inning for Central in the first.
Abilene High would quickly respond. A single by Pate Hughes to left-center would get Mark Pearson to cross the plate. Then a short time later Matt Loftin would drive home Hughes, and cap off a four run inning for Abilene High.
The Eagles would enter the seventh inning down by three runs. By the end they would only get one more runner across though, and fall to the Bobcats by the final of 9-7.
