For over four decades the Wildcats called the Lone Star Conference home. On Tuesday they took the field at the Bullington Practice Facility for the first time as a division one football program, and member of the Southland Conference.
It's a major change for the football program, and head coach Ken Collums says they're ready for the next chapter.
"We're all in uncharted waters right now. It will be interesting. I don't know how it's going to go, but I know this ; there are good times ahead. For ACU football we're going to have quality teams, we're going to win games. How many may be determinged by how good the other teams are, but I don't know. It will take a while for us to go through this, but everybody's excited, "said Collums.
The Wildcats will have 13 practices this spring before wrapping up spring ball with a final workout on April 16th. There is now spring game scheduled for this year.
