More Cars, Less Trucks

More Americans decided smaller and compact was better on the wallet last year when shopping for a new vehicle. USA Today reports that cars outsold trucks and SUV models last year for the first time since 2000. The reason was spiking gasoline prices and the bad economy. Here locally, auto retailers in the Big Country say despite the national trend, sales for trucks remained steady last year despite the pain at the pump. In late October, KRBC spoke to a local dealer who informed us because of the agricultural interests in this area, truck sales will remain strong in the Abilene markets.
