Police are searching for a gunman who robbed an Abilene bank just after 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

It happened in the 3800 block of South Clack at a Citibank. Officers say the suspect walked into the bank, pulled a gun and demanded cash. The gunman then took off.

Police issued a bulletin describing the suspect as a white male around 6'2". Witnesses say the suspect had on a red hat and his face was covered by a bandana. The man also had a knee brace on his right knee which may make him easily identifiable.

Officers say the suspect was seen leaving the scene in a white Chevy Silverado.  Witnesses think the licenses plates had been covered up. The suspect was traveling northbound on Clack when he got away.

Bigcountryhomepage.com spoke with a teller who said employees are shaken up, but will be okay.

We have crews headed to the scene to gather additional information.
