Bangs Police OT Through the Roof

By: Stephanie Harris
Updated: January 12, 2009
Overlapping shifts and overtime has cost the city of Bangs a lot of money.

For the first year, which runs from October to September of this year, the budget allows $6,000 for overtime.

Already, the Bangs Police Department has spent more than twice the amount budgeted for overtime for 12 months.

Between October and December, recently fired police chief Ricky Minica and officer Steve Vail had a total of nearly 13-thousands dollars in overtime.

The city is expected to discuss more on the topic at tomorrow's city council meeting.
