Brownwoods monthly sales tax allocation it receives from the state was down for December. This marks the second straight month the citys seen sales tax revenue dip. For December, figures were down about 5% compared to this same period last year.
Walter Middleton, Brownwood Finance Director, says this appears to be apart of a national trend.
Despite the declining figures, the city’s budget shows a projected 1.5% increase in sales tax revenue for this fiscal year.
