La Niña Affecting The Big Country

New climate data from the government suggests the La Niña weather pattern is affect the Big Country, Heartland and the Northern Concho Valley a little earlier than expected. La Niña is a cooling pattern of pacific waters off the South American coast that normally brings dry and warm weather to Texas. You may recall the U.S. Drought Monitor has recently been updated and now includes moderate to severe drought stage conditions affect our immediate that west central texas Texas. The new 90-day climate outlook from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) indicates that West Central Texas area will experience above normal temperatures and equal chances of being below or above normal on rainfall.
