Kicking back could be the key to kicking dementia.  New evidence suggests being laid back helps lower one's risk for dementia.

Dementia risk dropped 50% for people who were either relaxed and calm or outgoing and calm, compared to those were often stressed.

Dr. Sam Brinkman says, "A higher level of stress, a higher level of tension or anxiety, or a higher level of depression does erode brain reserve capacity."

Dr. Brinkman says practicing good brain health will not necessarily prevent dementia, but it could delay the onset.

Research shows adults should find activities that involve critical thinking and regular exercise to keep their minds active.

An estimated 1 in 7 Americans over the age of 70 have some form of dementia.
