Spaghetti Warehouse Closes in Abilene

Updated: February 4, 2009
Spaghetti Warehouse closed its doors Monday night.  The restaurant decided not to renew its lease at the Mall of Abilene.

The Mall of Abilene hopes to have a contract signed with the expected new tenant within the month.  Sandra Minnick, a spokesperson for the Mall of Abilene, says the tenant is a national retailer, not a restaurant, and is expected to bring a lot of traffic to that corridor of the mall.

The deal has been in the works for a year.

Luby's Cafeteria used to occupy the space that Spaghetti Warehouse has operated in.  There is more space available than was used by Spaghetti Warehouse.  The new retailer will occupy the entire available square footage, Minnick said.

According to its website, Spaghetti Warehouse operates 20 other stores, seven of which are in Texas.
