It's been 50 years since music legend and Lubbock native Buddy Holly was killed in a plane crash. Although he's not around anymore, his music lives on.

Abilenian Bob Lapham worked with Holly putting together hits such as "Peggy Sue" and "Oh Baby". Holly and Lapham's musical group, called The Picks, crossed paths at a recording studio years ago.

Lapham said he enjoyed his time working with Buddy Holly and was in Abilene when he heard that Holly's plane had crashed.
