It was a close call for one Abilene family early this morning as an 18 wheeler slammed into and through part of the garage of their house.
The sound was described by those in the home as a very close lightning strike.
The couple were in their bedroom at about 7:45 Wednesday morning when they heard the boom and then they ran out to see what it was.
They were just getting ready to take the two kids that were in the home to school, and they would have walked through the garage to get the car.
The driver of the truck who cut the 18 wheeler off was ticketed and the driver of the 18 wheeler was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
As for the people who live here, well, they say they will do the repairs needed and stay.
The couple is buying the house and will be able to to stay in the house while repairs are being made.
