An out-of-control tractor-trailer crashed part of the way through a north Abilene home this morning.
It happened about 7:45a.m. just south of I-20 at the entrance ramp from the Winters Freeway.
The semi truck was towing a flat-bed trailer of building materials.
The truck driver told police that he lost control after a fender-bender when a pickup merged onto the freeway into his path.
The truck ran off the interstate, across the access road, and into the home.
The family was getting ready to leave for school.
The crash caused a lot of damage to the family's home and emergency service providers rushed to the scene because of the threat of fire and the potential for severe injuries.
The family says they were shocked and angered by the crash, but there were injuries.
The worst of the damage was in the garage area of the family's home.
The accident happened around dawn when the glare for drivers going east is worsened.
