New Solar Power System At ACU

 With the push for more solar technology in Texas, Abilene Christian University is installing a new system to heat water in one campus building. Construction continues on a new field-house at the women's softball field is being installed with a solar-powered hot water heater system. Workers are currently installing solar panels on the roof that will generate the power to warm the water. Just three panels will generate enough power to save the campus several hundred dollars a month.

Paul Lewis with Empower Energy Solution, which is installing the solar panels, told KRBC News the system we are installing will save them [ACU] approximately $400-dollars a month on their energy bill if you compare that to using an electric hot water heating system. Lewis says the construction of the solar water system will be completed this weekend.
