While many people consider birthday celebrations a good thing, one Abilene group is hosting an "uncelebration" and showing a film in response to Charles Darwin's 200th birthday.
With February 12th being celebrated as Darwin's Day, the Discovery Center is hosting an "uncelebration" to teach people what they say is the truth behind evolution.
The Discovery center holds that many people and organizations are trying to push Darwin's birthday, believing him to have accomplished a great deal both socially and scientifically.
However, those at the Discovery Center believe that not only is evolution a myth, but, that Darwin's influence led to a greater surge in racism; a view taken and debated by others as well.
The Discovery Center is bringing in experts who speak about the Darwin issue through a movie titled, "Darwin's Deadly Legacy."
While it is considered an educational video, the discovery center warns it might not be suitable for elementary age children.
You can see Darwin's Deadly Legacy Friday night at 7p.m.in the Radford auditorium at McMurry University.
