APD: Afternoon Drunkenness

On Monday, at about 3:40 P.M., Officer Joeris was dispatched to a check welfare call in the 900 block of South Judge Ely. Officer Joeris contacted a 39 year old white female who was passed out on the sidewalk next to a business. The subject was extremely intoxicated and an obvious danger to herself and was arrested for Public Intoxication.At about 12:13 this morning, Officer Bryan stopped a vehicle in the 5400 block of Highway 277. As she approached the vehicle, Officer Bryan could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the subsequent investigation, the driver, a 19 year old white male, was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.
