The pickup truck suspected to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run was recovered this afternoon in Clyde, but with no sign of the driver.

Heather Ince, 33, of Abilene was riding a bike just after midnight when she was struck and killed in the 500 block of North Judge Ely Blvd.

Witnesses told police that a pickup truck sped off. A witness did attempt to chase the pickup but was unable to catch it.

Ince was rushed by ambulance to Hendrick Medical Center, where she then died of her injuries.  Police stopped Ince late Monday night as she was walking along train tracks.  She told the officer she was on her way to K-Mart to purchase a bicycle.

The recovered truck is a 1996 white Chevey Silverado extended cab.  Someone in Clyde recognized the truck based on the description given by police.

The driver could be charged with manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.  The case is in the hands of the District Attorney.  Police say the person of interest has already hired a lawyer.
