By: Chris Whited, KRBC News
Updated: February 10, 2009
A new report says the amount Texans have paid for electricity has skyrocketed since the state deregulated. The report released by the City Aggregation Power Project, Inc. found that electrical rates in Texas have risen about 64-percent since 1999.

According to federal data, Texans currently pay an average of about ten-point-three cents per kilowatt hour. The rates have dropped a little due to lower fuel costs currently on the market.
