Law enforcement officers from 200 jurisdictions across Texas are teaming up for the Great Texas Warrant Roundup next month, focused on people whose violations are misdemeanors.

Anyone with outstanding warrants for traffic violations, parking, city ordinance, penal code, and other Class C misdemeanors have their names published online and will be arrested at work or at home if they don't turn themselves in at Municipal Court.

"Affected persons are urged to contact Municipal Court (between now and Saturday) to dispose of their cases voluntarily to avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of arrest at home or at work in front of family, friends, or co-workers," the City of Abilene said in a press release.

The Great Texas Warrant Roundup gets underway Saturday, Mar. 7 and wraps up Tuesday, Mar. 17.

Abilene Municipal Court is located at 555 Walnut Street.  Its phone number is 325-676-6333.
