Your Lawmakers Respond to Stimulus Vote

Updated: February 13, 2009
Senators are voting on a nearly $790 billion dollar economic stimulus bill, but the vote won't be concluded for several hours.

Democrats need 60 votes to send the legislation to President Obama and this evening's vote will be held open to accommodate Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown.

Brown's mother died February 2nd and he's home in Ohio.  He'll rush back to DC tonight but is not expected to arrive at the Capitol until about 10:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The House approved the stimulus earlier today on a vote of 246-183.

No members of Congress who represent the Big Country supported the bill.  Click below to read how your Senators and respective Represenative feel about what most called, "wasteful spending."
