Early this morning, around 3:30 a.m., a patrol officer spotted two men allegedly steeling an ATV and loading it onto a trailer at South 36th and Treadaway.

The guys then drove off and led police on a chase into south Abilene, where they crashed into a fence by Wylie Intermediate School.

After a short chase on foot the driver was caught and is being charged with evading arrest and possession of stolen property, but the passenger escaped.
