New Fire Truck Delivered to AFD

By: Brittany Pelletz
Updated: February 16, 2009
The new and improved fire truck arrived at Station No. 6 Monday, and fire firefighters started learning all of its tricks.  It will be on the road within the next few weeks after new computers, radios, and a wireless intercom system are installed.

The two other fire trucks, all purchased at the same time, are expected to arrive in Abilene during the first week of March.

Each fire truck cost nearly $420 thousand.  The purchases were part of the 2006-2007 city budget.
