Star is a cat, that's kept her owners company for many years but after this stray cat was saved, one day she just disappeared.

Star was hanging around the shed one minute and the next she was gone.

Carol Black, Star's owner says they missed her when she wasn't anywhere to be found.

For weeks her owner searched and searched for Star and couldn't find her.

"Until one day we just have up on her," said Black.
During a mid-December day, Star made her way to an open shed in Black's backyard.
Then the shed was closed by the owner's daughter on accident and Star was closed in.

One day Carol's daughter heard a noise coming from the shed.
"I went into mother's house and said ya'll aren't going to believe me, I found star," said Cheryl Roach.
"None of us could believe her," adds Black.

After 6 weeks of missing with no food or water, Star survived.

Although star's survival in the shed isn't impossible Dr. Dale Hembree says cats really do have 9 lives.

"It probably wouldn't happen to anything but cats, they really do have 9 lives, it's really true. It's amazing what a cat can survive," said Dr. Dale Hembree, Judge Ely Animal Hospital.

He also said, "...it's just amazing how almost a state of hibernation that they can get into."
Carol says Star must be a miracle but probably have many lives left on her record.
