Updated: February 17, 2009
A Fannin Elementary School student was hit by a car as school let out this afternoon.

The 10-year-old girl's dad was parked across the street from the elementary school.

Police say she ran out in front of a car and the driver did not have time to slow down.

She wasn't seriously injured and was treated at the scene and released to her parents.

According to the school's principal, there is not a crossing guard at that intersection.
