In June, Cassie Clifton plans on marrying her fiance, in a big family wedding, just like she always dreamed about. "I've always wanted a pink wedding, because it's my favorite color," Clifton said.
Clifton says the struggling economy hasn't affected planning for her big day.
Her mother, Teresa, says that's because she and her husband have been planning and organizing for this special occasion.
"If we had to do it at the last minute, we couldn't afford to do it," Teresa said.
Wedding Planner, Karen LaBrenz, says that while you are planning for a day to remember, it's important to keep your wallet in mind.
"Your wedding is one of the most important days in your life, however, it is only one day" LaBrenz said. "You need to realize that the money spent and the debt you incur... that follows you."
Clifton knows her wedding will cost a pretty penny.
"I'm honestly scared to see how much I've been spending on it," Clifton said.
But her mother says it will all be worth it.
"We want it to be a perfect day for her and for her fiance," Teresa said. "As well as the family and friends, something they'll remember."
