Updated: February 23, 2009
Are you really ready for severe weather?

The National Weather Service will be giving you a chance to find out later this week.

There will be a tornado warning drill this Thursday.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the National Weather Service in San Angelo will transmit a practice tornado warning.

It will be broadcast on the NOAA all hazards radio.

Some of your local radio and TV stations, and emergency management offices may also relay this warning in your area.

The city of Abilene may also activate its "Code Red" notification system.

The practice tornado warning will only last about fifteen minutes.
