The kids in the town of Anson have been dealt a blow.

Somebody set the city park on fire, and it's gonna cost close to $300,000 to fix.

Sammy Wade has been coming to the city park for about 11 years everyday during lunch to feed the ducks Today, somebody told him about the damage and he came to take a look.

It's the same thing others are feeling when they came out the day after the volunteer built park was burned apparently in a case of Arson.

The Anson police chief says they started getting calls about the blaze after 11 Sunday night.

The Anson fire department says they were able to stop the fire from spreading to the other parts of the playground and into the tall grass of the creek, but what they will not be able to stop is the anger the community will be feeling when they see the damage.

Its a park the entire city has helped with.

Now police want more help with the park; only this time they are asking the community to help find who did this.

Anyone with any information may call 1-823-3056 for the Anson Police and 1-800-222-tips for Crime Stoppers.
