The Taylor County Sheriff's Department recognized 19-year-old, Joshua Powers, for his efforts in attempting to save the life of a young girl.
Powers did everything he could by giving CPR to a girl that had an allergic reaction back in January.
Unfortunately, she passed away eight days later.
Powers says he only did what he thought was thew right thing to do.
"I mean, I just did what I thought everybody else would do," comments Powers. "I don't consider myself a hero. I consider myself being in the right place at the right time."
Sheriff, Les Bruce presented the heroic teen with a gift and certificate for his actions on that day
