Pete Rose, the all-time hits leader in Major League Baseball who fell from grace after a gambling scandal, will be the guest speaker at the Zach Robinson Memorial Banquet at the Abilene Civic Center on May 17.

Tickets to hear the former Reds player and manager will cost $100 each.  Local country musician Aaron Watson will also play at the banquet.  It begins at 6:30 p.m.

The banquet, silent auction, and golf tournament beginning the next morning will benefit the Zach Robinson Memorial scholarship fund.  Robinson was killed by a drunk driver on Oct. 1, 2006.

The golf tournament will be held at the Abilene Country Club at 8 a.m. Monday, May 18.
