Teacher of the Year at Abilene High

Abilene High School teacher, Keith Thomas, has been named the Region XIV Outstanding Teacher of the Year.
This award is presented by the Association of Texas Technology Education to honor a teacher that demonstrates "outstanding achievement in the classroom."
Thomas is currently working with Texas Tech University to incorporate the study of robotics into the Abilene High School curriculum, where he currently teaches industrial technology.
He is president-elect of the ATTE, where he previously served two terms as treasurer.
Thomas also teaches pre-engineering courses through the "Project Lead the Way" program, as well as teaching specialized curriculum and instructional strategies to new pre-engineering teachers.
