When it comes to beating dementia, Americans should take a note from Mediterraneans.
Numerous studies have proven that eating a Mediterranean diet lowers ones risk for dementia, but what does a Mediterranean diet consist of?
It includes, vegetables, cereals and moderate amounts of alcohol with less dairy and red meats, and you don't have to break the bank to change your diet.
While consuming a Mediterranean diet is a good start to battling dementia, dietitians still say there's one supplement that will lead to better overall mental and physical health for seniors.
Eating a Mediterranean diet will also help senior citizens who already have mild cognitive impairments to lower their risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
