Last Day to Apply for APD Academy

 On Monday, at about 9:15 P.M., Officer Phillips contacted a suspicious subject in the 3900 block of Whittier. Upon further investigation, the 44 year old black male was found to have twelve (12) outstanding local warrants for his arrest. The fines for the warrants totaled approximately $3000 and the suspect was arrested.

Later, at about 11:15 P.M., Officer Antilley stopped a vehicle in the 2600 block of North Willis. As the vehicle stopped, Officer Antilley saw two objects flying out of the drivers side window. Upon further investigation, the objects were baggies that contained crystal methamphetamine and marijuana. The driver, a 17 year old white female, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.

Tomorrow is the final day that the Abilene Police Department will be accepting applications for the next police academy. You may receive an application by: emailing jobs@abilenetx.com, picking up an application in person at 555 Walnut/Human Resources office, or calling 676-6347.
